Street Food Lover's

DESCRIPTION

Rohitdas Desai started the first Ritz café in 1985-86 in Panjim. This was a simple non a/c café that served the traditional Goan fish thali to the locals. However, the popularity of the joint led his son Rajesh Desai to open the slightly more upmarket Ritz Classic, a short distance from Ritz Café, in 2002. The restaurant serves all varieties of fish – pomfret, mori (shark), squids, mussels, oysters, crabs and bombil (Bombay duck). It is most well known for its lunch time Special Fish Curry Rice, an elaborate thali that includes a fish salad, fish fry, prawns masala, fish curry, dal and rice.
Mr. Bhaskar Shetty, the manager of the Ritz Classic, who has been around since it started in 2002, says that the while fish curry is what the restaurant is known for, it has a huge reputation for tandoori and chinese food as well which is best expressed by the significant number of chefs that they have for each of the cuisines.
